Horrifying EVP’s Of Screams In The Villisca Axe Murder House

In 2009 the American Paranormal Research Association conducted a paranormal investigation of the infamous Villisca Axe Murder House. The audio captured during the investigation horrified the team and has baffled experts ever since.

Sensational newspaper headlines captured the American public’s imagination

It was a crime so savage that it changed an entire community forever. Overnight the residents of the quiet little town of Villisica, Iowa, no longer left their homes unlocked, neighbor turned upon neighbor with suspicion as the police hunted a brutal killer that remained at large. It was one of the worst crimes that America had ever witnessed, and it became known as the Villisca Axe Murders.

On June 10, 1912 Josiah Moore and his wife, Sarah, their four children, Herman, Mary, Arthur, and Paul were hacked to death with an axe as they slept in their beds. Two of Mary’s friends, Ina and Lena Stillinger, who were staying over that night, were also found dead.

In the dead of night, the killer slipped into the house and crept through the halls, systematically slaughtering the Moore family and their guests with axe swings so violent he left gouge marks in the ceiling. After the killing had ended, the murderer draped cloths over the crushed faces of his victims and ceremoniously covered each mirror and exposed windowpane with linens pulled from dresser drawers.

Who could have committed such a brutal crime? While there were plenty of theories and suspects, there was never enough evidence to convict anyone of the crime which remains unsolved to this day.

The house has been restored to the original conditions of the 1912 murders

Over the years the house changed ownership thirteen times, the newest owner Darwin Linn restored the house back to the original conditions of the 1912 murders and turned the property into a museum.

Aside from the usual tourist, paranormal investigators regularly visit the house which is said to be haunted by its former residents. Investigators have been known to capture audio, video and photographic proof of paranormal activity. Children’s voices are often heard in the house, lamps fall for no apparent reason, ladders move and objects miraculously fly across rooms as if thrown by unseen hands. Psychics who have ventured into the house have confirmed the presence of spirits dwelling in the home and many have actually communicated with them.

With such a brutal history and rumors of paranormal activity it was only a matter of time before the American Paranormal Research Association (APRA) took up the challenge and investigated the Villisca Axe Murder House.

The group led by Brandon Alvis, is a scientific paranormal research team that was put together solely to investigate historical locations throughout the United States. Founded in 2006, APRA’s goal is to open the eyes of the scientific community in trying to understand the explainable and to obtain proof that life after death is a great possibility by collecting hard, irrefutable paranormal.

In the spring of 2009 the paranormal team arrived in Villisca to investigate the notoriously haunted house, and it did not disappoint. Amongst the large volume of evidence collected during the investigation it was the EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) audio recordings that truly shook the team. Far beyond all expectation, the team captured on tape what appears to be the Moore family screaming and pleading for their lives. Although other investigations that have taken place at the house have captured similar audio recordings, none have been so clear or so chilling.

‘The Villisca Axe Murder case was the most emotional investigation that APRA has ever conducted.’ Brandon Alvis the founder of APRA told us during a recent interview.

‘The data we collected that night changed the paranormal field forever. To this day we have not been able to recreate or disprove the terrible audio data we collected that night. It is a case that will stick with me for the rest of my life.’

After concluding their investigation all footage was presented to engineers, medical doctors and various other professionals from technical industries. Each given the circumstance could not come up with explanations for what was presented to them.
